V-boats - The V-boats were a group of nine submarines built between World War I and World War II for the United States Navy. They were not a ship class in the usual sense of a series of nearly-identical ships built from the same design, but because no other boats were being built during that time, the term "V-boats" is used to include these five classes of submarines.
