British honours system - The British honours system is a means of rewarding individuals' personal bravery, achievement or service to the United Kingdom. The system consists of three types of award: honours, decorations and medals.
Hong Kong honours system - The modern Hong Kong honours system was created by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government after the handover of Hong Kong to China in 1997. Before this system's creation, Hong Kong followed the British honours system with the Order of the British Empire.
Canadian honours system - The Canadian honours system has developed as a unique entity since the centennial of Canadian Confederation in 1967 when the first distinctly Canadian honour, the Order of Canada was created. The system is modelled on the British honours system.
Irish honours system - Ireland prior to the declaration of the Irish Free State in 1922 utilised the British honours system, but there was a separate honour awarded specifically to Irishmen - the Order of St. Patrick.
