Demolition - Demolition is the opposite of construction: the tearing-down of buildings and other structures. It is contrasted with deconstruction, which is the taking down of buildings while carefully preserving valuable elements for re-use.
Deconstruction (building) - In the context of the physical construction, deconstruction is the practice of manually taking down a building in a way which preserves valuable building materials for re-use. It is more labour-intensive than demolition, but has cost and environmental benefits.
